Steve is the grilling master each and every week on the Fishing the Flats TV Series. He has been fuelling his passion for real southern barbeque and fusion style cooking for over two decades. His dedication and hard work have paid off as Steve has led his competition BBQ team, Team Cedar Grilling to victory for three consecutive years as national champions and has been awarded the coveted Canadian BBQ Championship title, together with the privilege of representing Canada at the Jack Daniels’ World Championships in Lynchburg Tennessee.
Steve can often be found at one of his three places, Barbados, Sarasota or his cottage in the Muskokas; working on new innovative ideas, techniques, and food design in search of barbeque perfection. Every recipe that Steve creates is a work of art; from his unique sauces to his finish plating, every recipe is a mouth-watering masterpiece.
Steve has lost count of his vast collection of charcoal barbeques and gas grills that he has accumulated over the years (Shhh, don’t tell his wife). His newest 16 ft. wood fired creation, ‘Jambo’, was custom built in Texas for the media and has taken 12 months to assemble. This baby features a Crown Verity grill and pumps ice cold Steam Whistle Pilsner from her belly!! Steve is anxious to demonstrate what this new pit can accomplish with his well developed BBQ skills and recipes.
